Particulate Emission Monitoring
Solutions
for the Aluminium Industry
Crushing Plant
Bag Filters found on Bauxite crushing plant emit low levels of
particulate, typically single figure mg/m3. To monitor these
emissions, ElectroDynamic™ Probe Electrification instruments are preferred, unlike
traditional Optical and Triboelectric units these approved (MCERTS/TUV)
probe-based instruments are virtually maintenance free, requiring no
additional services such as air purge. [top]
Calciners
The selection of monitoring technology for calciners is dependant on
the type of filter used. For bag houses ElectroDynamic™ Probe Electrification
instruments are preferred whereas DynamicOpacity™
Ratiometric Opacity systems are utilised on Electo-filters. [top]

Smelting Anode Baking
The risk of catastrophic failure of bag filter elements can be
virtually eliminated and maintenance costs and down times significantly
reduced by employing ElectroDynamic™ Probe Electrification
instrumentation together with a predictive filter failure software
package (Predict). [top]

Smelting Furnace Filter
PCME provide a range of instrumentation to monitor high temperature
gasses from furnace applications. Standard sensors will monitor
emissions up to 250°C and units are available to withstand temperatures
up to 1000°C. [top]

Smelting Casting Filters
Each compartment of Multi chamber casting filters may be individually
monitored by a networked ElectroDynamic™ Probe Electrification system.
This allows plant operators to identify rises in emission levels from
each compartment thereby reducing maintenance times and costs and
significantly reducing total environmental emissions. [top]
