Patent
for Advanced Quality Assurance Checks on Dust Sensor
PCME
Ltd, specialists in the field of particulate and dust
emission monitoring instruments, has been awarded the UK
patent for its new contamination check for Electrodynamic
dust monitors.
As
regulatory bodies place heightened importance on the quality
assurance associated with Continuous Emission Monitors, this
check automatically monitors the conditions of the dust
probe insulation and provides a user alarm before any
contamination will cause an error in measurement.
This
patented contamination check is provided on the DT990 Dust
Monitoring Network System which recently received TUV
approval according to BImSchV 17 & 27.
It compliments the automatic zero and span checks
already provided to verify that the amplification and
conditioning of the measured signal is performed within
pre-defined tolerances.
The contamination circuit monitors for current or
signal leakage across the insulator providing the ultimate
proof that the sensor measurement is un-compromised.
